Frequently Asked Questions about Fund Raising with Smallfolk.com

Why should I purchase through Smallfolk.com?

Internet companies do not have the overheads of a high street retailer and consequently can pass on the benefits of this saving directly to their customers. Smallfolk.com aims to sell trusted brands at less than MRP (Manufacturer's recommended Prices) where ever possible. However please note, some manufacturers do not permit this. Orders are usually dispatched as soon as the payment has been cleared. You, the customer, will benefit from the convience of home shopping, next day delivery (for most orders except toys) and the knowledge that your nominated children's good cause will also benefit in the process.

How secure is shopping with Smallfolk.com?
Smallfolk.com's credit card system uses the latest 128 bit encryption which is the strongest possible comercially available security for internet based shopping. We use the same encryption as major on-line banks.

Is the cost of donation included in the price of the product?
No,
all donations are sourced out of Smallfolk.com's own marketing budget and are not included in the product price. In fact, since this form of cause related marketing is less expensive than conventional advertising both the customer and the children's good cause benefit.

How are funds raised?
Once a children's organisation has been aproved friends of the organisation can elect the organisation as their preferred recepient. Up to 1% of the cost of the product purchased by the friends of the organisation will be automatically credited to the organisation.

How can a customer elect a good cause to benefit from their purchases?
There are two ways. Once you become a Smallfolk.com customer you can nominate a default good cause to benefit from all your purchases. This can be done by clicking on 'Your Account' at the top of the page and re-setting your defaults. Alternatively, you can elect a good cause at the time of the purchase.

What if I do not elect a good cause at the time of purchase and have not got a default set up?
For all such purchases Great Ormond Street Hospital will benefit. This is Smallfolk.com's default charity for 2000/1.

Who can raise funds with Smallfolk.com?

Yes. Smallfolk.com can provide promotional material such as leaflets and merchandise. Smallfolk.com is also able to create web pages and e-mail facilities to further the raise awareness of the organisation at no cost.
